| For the past
year Mitch has been an apprentice of Mr. Robert "Bob" Valade on the North Coast area of Oregon USA . Master Engraver, Robert Valade whose work is pictured in many publications including the book of Colt Engraving by R.L. Wilson (also known as "jail-bird-Larry") in chapter XVII, page 529. Mitch has been a commercial artist for approx. 35 years and started doing hand engraving, "self taught" in 1992, doing horse tack and cowboy gear, etc.. . After a rest from engraving for some time Mitch met Bob Valade and became fast friends. Currently Mitch is studying under Bob and many other sources, books and videos of old a current masters. Soon Mitch will also be studying knife making under Mr. Tiny Spencer, a renowned Master Knife Maker.
